About me

I am a PhD. candidate at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). My supervisors are Dr. Jakub Szymanik and prof. Dr. Michiel van Lambalgen.

After receiving a BSc. in Psychology (honors), with a specialization in clinical neuropsychology in 2011, I finished a research MSc. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences (cum laude) in 2013.

Currently I am doing research on moral cognition. Are humans born with a sense of right and wrong?; Or do we have to be taught what is good and what is not? I try to answer this question by combining empirical studies with modelling techniques borrowed from formal logic.

Research interests

Besides moral psychology I have a broad scope of academic interests. I am interested in research on intelligence, evolutionary psychology, game theory, motivation, psychology of religion, developmental and educational psychology. I also have a philosophical appetite for philosophy of mind, ethics and philosophy of science/ epistemology.
