I am a PhD candidate at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). My supervisors are Prof. Dr. Sonja Smets, Dr. Jakub Szymanik, Prof. Dr. Mark van Vugt and Dr. Michiel van Elk.
Currently I am doing research on moral cognition. Are humans born with a sense of right and wrong? Or do we have to be taught what is good and what is not? I try to answer this question by combining empirical studies with modelling techniques borrowed from formal logic.
Besides moral psychology I have a broad scope of academic interests. I am interested in research on intelligence, evolutionary psychology, game theory, motivation, psychology of religion, developmental and educational psychology. I also have a philosophical appetite for philosophy of mind, ethics and philosophy of science/ epistemology.
